Bart Simpson takes shot at Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions can't even escape cartoons. In tonight's episode of "The Simpsons" Moe, the bartender, was trying to drum up interest in betting on pigeon racing.
Pigeon racing? Moe explained to a young and sometimes skeptical Bart Simpson that it is possible to bet on anything that moves.
“Even the Detroit Lions?” asked Bart.
Moe replied,”Hey, layoff Detroit. Them people is living in ‘Mad Max’ times."

So proud to call myself a Detroit Lions fan.
Report: Detroit Lions' Shaun Hill says New England Patriots tried to break arm
ESPNBoston.comDetroit Lions quarterback Shaun Hill accused the New England Patriots of trying to re-break his left arm during a sneak play on Thursday, according to a report on Mlive.com.
"That's why I eventually gave up the ball," Hill said, according to Mlive.com. "Somebody was down there [in the pile] literally trying to break my arm, which is already broken. Literally, trying. And, uh, y'know, I guess [it] wasn't seen [by officials]."
On the one hand (no pun intended) I hate that this sort of thing happens in the NFL. On the other hand (okay, that time...) I hate that it appears that the starting quarterback for my team decided to take this sort of thing public instead of keeping it in the locker room.
He doesn't have to take this sort of thing but going public with it instead of taking care of it with his teammates on the field feels a little weak.
Lions feast early, then fall asleep
Bob WojnowskiDetroit -- The Lions were right there for a while, of course. But when winning time arrives, they disappear. On the franchise's most visible day, it was all there to see, from the decent to the dreadful to the final dumb acts of frustration.
One of these days, the Lions will play tough against a good opponent all the way to the end. Once again, this was not one of those days, and the toll is growing for second-year coach Jim Schwartz, after his 2-9 team completely fell apart in the fourth quarter.

This is a recording.
I think what continues to amaze me more than anything else is the ability of a Lions fan to continue to be just that. This organization has given us nothing to be passionate about in over a decade and yet we continue to not only support this latest version of the team but expect things to get better. With no evidence to support it, we continue to believe next week will be better.
At the end of the day I'm proud to say I am still, despite everything, a Lions fan.

Listening to the Twitter Conversation
I can’t shout as loudly as most of the other folks on Twitter and I frankly don’t have that much of tremendous interest to add. But I can continue to listen to the conversation, filter it, sort it, and find the hidden gems that still exist in the stream of noise and use it to my personal advantage.
